“When I was a medical student, one of my professors said that medicine is 50% psychology and faith of the patient. There are many diseases and elements of diseases that are influenced by the attitude and psyche of the person. Faith in the doctor, in God, in a good outcome is always one of the positive prerequisites for a therapy to work”, commented the head of a laboratory in Bern, Dr. Asparuh Iliev in “Wake up”.
In his words, the lack of stress, which fills our entire daily life, is extremely important. “Every person who lives more calmly - manages to overcome stress”, added Dr. Iliev.
He also discussed the viruses circulating in the country in the spring. “Some diseases such as measles and chickenpox remain problematic, there are also cases of scarlet fever. But there is no great danger of major epidemics”, believes Dr. Iliev.
In his words, the only protection against measles is vaccination. “A person has a level of immunization above which the diseases “dry up”. Even if there are single patients, they cannot infect many other people. For measles, there is about 97% protection with vaccination. In the absence of immunization, as we are observing in the USA - the number of infected people can increase explosively”, explained Dr. Iliev.
