A tragic accident claimed the life of a 9-month-old baby after an accident on the Smolyan-Devin road. The child died today, minutes before 3 p.m., while he was supposed to be transported by medical helicopter from the hospital in Smolyan to a specialized clinic in Plovdiv, BTA wrote.
The accident occurred near the junction for the village of Breze. A car driven by the child's 38-year-old father went off the road and overturned in a roadside ravine. The mother and their 3-year-old daughter were also traveling in the car, and they all managed to get out of the car on their own.
Despite emergency measures to transport the baby to a specialized clinic, he died before being put on the helicopter. The competent authorities are currently investigating the causes of the accident.
