Prof. Georgi Lozanov in “Offensive with Lyubo Ognyanov” on NOVA NEWS.
He also commented that the big problem is whether we can confess and atone for our sins. And he added that he had not heard anyone repent for them.
„In Bulgarian society, we have the feeling that we do not have high morality because of the inability to bear and admit our sins”,
Lozanov also said.
He emphasized that there is a lot of demagogy and hypocrisy in political speech. And he gave an example of the war on the roads.
„Corruption leads to physical casualties. But all this can be fixed if the protest is connected to the creation of new policies, an attempt is made to create a new model in which institutions cannot practice corrupt practices. If we only say that we must fight against the war on the roads and that this is very scary and is a result of corruption, this does not lead to anything. You have to show who the corrupt are and be able to recognize the bearers of possible change”, Lozanov believes.
The geopolitical order before and now
The expert said that liberal democracy managed to defeat both fascism and Soviet totalitarianism. According to him, people had the feeling that the central place in the world would be the person and his rights and that the geopolitical and social order would move in this direction, but the Soviet dictatorship gradually began to be restored.
„After an initial period of hope that Russia could also join the democratic world, the reverse process began, which happened with an attack on the collective West – from hybrid warfare practices to a hot war in Ukraine”, he said.
In his words, the purpose of the war was to convince Western people that liberal democracy had outlived its time, that it did not solve problems, but created them, and that there should be a new order that would coincide with Soviet authoritarianism.
„The big problem is that this could not have happened unless liberal democracy itself succumbed to this suggestion. This is unfortunately on the verge of happening with the election of Trump as president”, the expert also said.
