Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov will visit Burgas and attend the official ceremony marking the completion of the REBIRTH28 project for the construction of a new deep-water berth at the “West“ terminal, “BMF Port Burgas“ at 2:30 p.m., the government press service announced.
BTA recalls that the project began in March 2023 and an agreement was signed for its implementation for grant assistance under the Connecting Europe Facility program, “Transport&rdash; sector – 2021.
The new area of the berth will provide processing and storage of containerized cargo, and after rehabilitation of the railway routes, intermodal solutions will be provided on the territory of the port for the movement of cargo with a minimum amount of harmful emissions, announced in March 2023 by “BMF Port Burgas“.
The new berth will expand our country's capabilities in terms of accepting cargo from Asia to the countries of the European Union along the Orient/East - West corridor, the port operator also indicated.
