Stoyan Bratoev must remain the executive director of "Metropolitan", said the municipal councilor Vanya Grigorova at a briefing in the Sofia Municipality.
Grigorova recalled that last year, during the vote in the Sofia Municipal Council, she supported the change of management of the municipal commercial companies with one condition - Stoyan Bratoev to be not only part of the Board of Directors of "Metropolitan", but also to be the executive director. Bratoev is a person with very serious professional experience, who knows all the lines of "Metropolitan", knows in detail all the metro stations, as well as the people working there. There is no way that laymen can professionally manage such a complex system as "Metropolitan", commented Grigorova.
She said that there was a public procurement for eight metro trains, for which there was only one candidate and that is why it was terminated by the company's Board of Directors. The decision was made by four votes to one. The one vote "against" belongs to Professor Bratoev, because he, unlike the other members of the Board of Directors, knows very well that when this procurement is launched again, it will be of a higher value, indicated the municipal councilor. I cannot say that this is self-interest on their part, I rather think that it is ignorance of the matter and that they are unable to cope with even one public procurement, indicated Grigorova. When you sabotage the delivery of eight metro trains for several months, can you manage the complex movement of dozens of metro trains in this super-complex system, such as the "Metropolitan", in which serious incidents are not allowed, she added.
Grigorova emphasized that she does not want the metro to be subjected to stress and for incidents to occur that could cost human lives. According to the municipal councilor, the new management is inexperienced and short-sighted and she will withdraw her support for it if it replaces Bratoev.
In response to a question from BTA, Grigorova said that when she supported the new managements of the municipal companies last year, she thought that a procedure for holding new competitions would begin. It turned out that this was not the case, Grigorova pointed out. According to her, these competitions should be held and should be more fair than the competition for the chief architect of Sofia, for example. Vanya Grigorova admits that there is an agreement between representatives of different groups in the SOS and that is why the competitions are being delayed. Maybe they are not ready with the personnel to distribute to the boards of directors, she believes. Personally, I have no interest in any position in any company, Grigorova assured.
