The contract for the purchase of 35 electric locomotives for BDZ will be signed at the Council of Ministers. On behalf of the government, the contract will be signed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Grozdan Karadjov.
The contractor is the "BULEMU" Consortium, in which the French company "Alstom" participates. The project is part of the investments under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.
In order to maximize the absorption of funds from the PVP and minimize costs from the state budget, simultaneously with the signing of the main contract, an additional agreement approved by the EC will be signed, according to which 12 of the trains, worth over 363 million leva, will be financed by the Plan.
The remaining 23 electric locomotives for over 696 million leva will be included in the Social Climate Plan. A temporary interest-free loan of nearly 279 million leva is also provided to the Ministry of Transport to cover the advance payment under the contract.
