The first sod of the new beam of the Plovdiv Ring Road will be done on September 18th. Mayor Kostadin Dimitrov, regional minister Violeta Koritarova-Kasabova and the head of API Yordan Valchev are expected to launch the project, TrafficNews specifies.
At the last session of the Municipal Council, the mayor stated that by the end of the month, the construction of the South-East bypass will begin, with the first section being about 150 meters long, together with the intersection for the village of Jagodovo. This is the first section, from there there are 3 more lots that are currently being designed.
For the third year now, the Southeast bypass of Plovdiv has been waiting to start. A public procurement was held for it and a contractor was selected in the person of “Trey Group Hold”. The amount is over BGN 40 million including VAT, but it will probably be indexed, since the offer is from 2021. According to the contract, the maximum period of construction and installation activities is 18 months.
The connection between “Skobeleva mother” and Asenovgrad road has been one of the most awaited projects in Plovdiv for years. It should carry a large part of the transit traffic, and with it there will be a direct connection from the highway to the Asenovgrad road – Smolyan. Separately, the ring of the city will be completed with her.
The route of the bypass road must start in the area of the road junction “Skobeleva Maika“ at the 98th km of road II-56, it will continue almost parallel to the railway. p. the line and will end at the roundabout at the 14th km of road II-86 Plovdiv – Asenovgrad – about 4.8 km.
The new road with G20 gauge will flow into the new four-lane section of the second-class road II-86 Plovdiv - Asenovgrad, built last year. The section will be two-lane, separated by a median strip, with two lanes in each direction and benches.
