Korcha will soon become a famous city thanks to the fact that the first ski resort of Albania. The entrepreneurs who decided to invest in the south-eastern part of the country are Austrians, who created projects in the most famous alpine resorts in Austria and Switzerland.
The step taken by the Albanian authorities is to turn the country into a winter tourist destination. In the last 10 years, the Albanian coast has literally been “boiling” from the construction of seaside resorts and the fruits are already there – a number of new airlines have been launched between Tirana and many European cities, and travel companies are offering bargain holidays and saying that their customers are impressed by the Albanian coast.
A new airport is also under construction near Vlora, which should be ready in March 2025. The investment is worth EUR 103 million. The goal is for the country to be able to welcome more tourists. At the moment, the population of Albania is 2.8 million people, and the country's plans are for it to be visited annually by at least twice as many people.
