At a special conference in Sofia today the World Day of Geographical Information Systems - GIS is celebrated. This year's conference will be held under the title "United GIS for a better tomorrow".
Special guest for the opening of the conference will be the deputy minister of e-governance Alexander Iolovski. Welcome will be given by Prof. Dr. Eng. Arch. Zdravko Rusev, European Academy of Architecture. Among the officials will be representatives of AGKK, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Education and Culture, Ministry of Health, Samokov municipality and others.
Representatives of academic institutions from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski, Moscow State University “St. Ivan Rilski, UASG, and representatives of leading high-tech companies will present some of the successful projects implemented through GIS platforms, bringing added value to business and society.
