On this day, we celebrate the memory of St. Naum. Rev. Naum of Ohrid was the youngest of the disciples of the holy brothers Cyril and Methodius, in the city of Devol, Macedonia, he instructed in the Christian faith, there he was a martyr and died in 910. His relics are a source of healings.
Rev. Naum of Ohrid died on December 23, 910, when his memory is celebrated. But probably because it was winter time then, and also Christmas Lent, since ancient times the Ohrid Archbishopric, closed as an independent one in 1767, established June 20 as a day for a more solemn celebration of his memory.
