Olympique Marseille oust Benfica in dramatic Europa League semi-final

Olympic (Marseille) qualified for the Europa League semi-finals after a 1-0 return success against Portugal's Benfica in the regular season time and overtime and 3:2 on penalties, FOCUS reported.

The first meeting in Lisbon ended with success for the champions of the Iberian country with 2:1.

In a battle for a place in the final, Marseille will meet the Italian Atalanta, who surprisingly eliminated the favorite for the trophy Liverpool.

The only goal in regular time was scored by Faris Mumbanya in the 79th minute after an assist from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Correia, Kondogbia and Balerdi were accurate in the penalties for Marseilles, and for Benfica - Kirkju and Otamendi, but Angel di Maria and Antonio Silva missed and it turned out to be fatal.
