Napoli defeated Fiorentina 2-1 and thus came within a point of the leader in the Serie A standings; Inter, reports BTA. The Sky Blues achieved success at their stadium "Diego Maradona" with goals from Romelu Lukaku and Giacomo Raspadori.
Lukaku opened the scoring in the 26th minute after Scott McTominay launched a dangerous shot that was cleared by Fiorentina goalkeeper David de Gea, but Lukaku was in the right place to score for 1-0.
De Gea continued to be put under constant pressure by Napoli players and in the 60th minute the hosts overcame the Spanish goalkeeper for the second time. The goal was scored by Giacomo Raspadori after an assist from Lukaku – 2:0.
Four minutes later, Albert Gudmundsson reduced the deficit after a pass from Moise Kean to give Fiorentina fans hope – 2:1. By the end of the match, there were chances for a new goal in front of both gates, but the score remained unchanged.
Napoli is still one point away from first place in Serie A
