The Levski management has given a negative response to the desire of the now former team coach Stanislav Genchev to attract a defender from the Bulgarian championship, claims "Tema Sport", quoted by Topsport.
We are talking about central defender Matej Šimić. The Croatian has been part of Krumovgrad for the past year and a half. It is from there that Genchev knows his qualities very well. The coach wanted to take him to "Gerena". But he met a firm refusal from the management. In the fall, the 29-year-old defender was a starter in all 19 matches of Krumovgrad, and was not substituted. The same happened in the team's two matches for the Bulgarian Cup.
The Levski bosses were of the opinion that if a defender was taken, he should be young. As if he could be sold in time. This is the reason why the upper echelons of "Georgi Asparuhov" were not thrilled with the idea of taking another player with whom Genchev worked - the national team player Serkan Yussein. In the fall, he fell out of favor in Krumovgrad. The likelihood of the midfielder joining the "blues" is very small, after the coach was fired.
