The two Ferrari cars driven by Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton, as well as Pierre Gasly's from the Alpine team, were disqualified after the Chinese Formula 1 Grand Prix.
Leclerc, who finished fifth, was disqualified because his car finished with a weight lower than the 800 kilograms allowed by the regulations. When measured on the scales, the Monegasque's car showed a weight of 799 kilograms.
Hamilton, who finished sixth, was penalized for insufficient thickness of the mounting board in the lower part of the Briton's chassis. It is required to be 9 millimeters, but measurements have shown that at one end it is 8.6 millimeters and at the other it is 8.5 millimeters.
Gasly, who finished outside the points zone - in 11th place, was penalized for exactly the same reason as Leclerc - his car weighed 799 kilograms after draining the fuel from it and was one kilogram lighter than the minimum allowed.
With the reclassification of the three, all the other drivers who finished behind them move two or three positions forward.
Until now, in the history of Formula 1, it had never happened that both Ferrari cars were disqualified in the same race.
