The Continental company has introduced the new Tough RuNR airbags, which have been specially developed for trucks. The new products are mainly distinguished by an innovative and highly advanced rubber composition.
The material experts in the ContiTech Group sector have replaced synthetic rubber with natural rubber, which has been improved by adding ethylene propylene rubber (EPDM). As a result, the carbon footprint of the rubber compound of the new Tough RuNR airbags has been reduced by more than 50%.
At the same time, the company says, the new material covers a wider range of climates and is resistant to both extreme heat and extreme cold.
We will find out more about the new Tough RuNR product during the upcoming IAA Transportation 2024 exhibition in Hanover, where the brand will present its new product to the public.
