The transfer of equipment was carried out on the territory of one of the military units deployed in Chisinau. The specialized resource Militaryi reported on this event, citing the Ministry of Defense of Moldova.
In the current transport tranche, all the cars are new, manufactured in 2024. The vehicles come in the version of front-line landing vehicles. And these are not the first such SUVs for the Moldovan army.

It already has such vehicles in the form of staff, medical, anti-aircraft, grenade launcher, patrol, communications and other types of military equipment, all on the Hummer chassis.
Depending on the modification, they are equipped with different power units. But the motorization consists mainly of GM V8 Detroit diesel engines, starting with 6.2-liter engines with 150 hp, an intermediate 6.5-liter with 170 hp and the same displacement, but with a turbocharger and a power of 190 hp. There is also an even more powerful 5.7L Chevy Small Block L05 V8 engine, which produces 200 hp.
These cars are becoming increasingly common on the European continent. In the Moldovan army alone, taking into account the current transfer, the total fleet of HMMWVs has increased to 129 units.
There are even more such vehicles in the units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. The number of HMMWVs, as experts recently estimated, citing sources in the Rear Forces Command, is already approaching 5,000 units. Also, various versions, including permutations, are available in the Bulgarian army.

These are mainly advanced vehicles that are used in our country both to perform combat missions and for logistics in almost all military operations. In two-seater versions of such vehicles with a total weight of 3.5 tons, the body is often used for multiple launch rocket systems, mortars, automatic grenade launchers, etc.
With 4x4 all-wheel drive, wide dimensions and low height, such a car behaves well on slopes, overcomes mud and snowdrifts perfectly, and successfully hides in the "folds" of the terrain.
