Tesla is trying to protect the staff working in the brand's dealerships from potential attacks by people who hate CEO Elon Musk. To this end, most showrooms will have special rooms designed to protect against attackers.
The numerous attacks by protesters dissatisfied with Elon Musk's policies have forced many Tesla electric car owners to sell their electric cars due to concerns for their own safety. However, it is not only Tesla drivers who are victims of vandalism.
The company's dealerships, and therefore their employees, have already been attacked repeatedly. Apparently, showroom employees can't escape attacks that easily, but as Carscoops points out, Tesla has decided to take care of its staff's safety.
A new report reveals that Tesla showrooms now have rooms where staff can hide from angry customers. An internal company document, titled “Security for Managers: Threats and Aggression against the Team“, was obtained by German newspaper Handelsblatt and contains some interesting details.
In particular, it is said that employees of service centers or showrooms may fear for their safety due to aggressive customers or other outsiders, so Tesla has decided to introduce separate rooms where they can hide from attackers.
It is not known how many such rooms exist, nor where they are located, but what is really interesting is that some of them existed before, that is, before the current wave of aggression against Tesla. The document also urges employees to try to show compassion when faced with an angry customer and not to take attacks personally.
In general, Tesla cars and dealers have become targets of protesters outraged by Elon Musk's actions as head of the Department of Energy Efficiency (DOGE) and other actions on behalf of the new US government and President Donald Trump.
As a result, dozens of cars and showrooms in different places around the world have been pelted with stones, graffiti, set on fire, and employees have even been beaten. Incidentally, this has led to the fact that some of the vandals have been charged with terrorism-related crimes.
