Scania's test vehicles have received a new anti-spy design: the pre-production truck has a yellow and black striped wrap instead of the black and white camouflage wrap that is put on the cars.

The fashion for black and white camouflage for pre-premiere models started a few years ago and it is not known for sure whether it will change, but there is now an alternative. This is exactly what the publication on 40ton.net indicates.

These are three photos of a brand new Scania with a slightly smaller, but more colorful yellow and black wrap. The photos have only just begun their journey online, but they have already attracted attention and caused a controversial reaction.

According to some experts, the spotted, pixelated black and white camouflage is better, and the new striped style of the yellow and black pattern loses. While the black and white protection almost completely hides the design, individual details and elements, the new stripes do not have such a thorough anti-spy barrier.

However, the photo of the "striped" Scania shows the new developments, without, however, allowing experts to get into the details of the vehicle. Here you can see new headlights, a redesigned radiator grille and rounded mirror housings. Thus, the manufacturer does not hide, but rather partially reveals its solutions, which has aroused quite healthy interest and lively discussion.

Experts have already paid attention to the front part located in front of the driver. This is likely an element of the future cabin configuration, which may be included in the new requirements for direct visibility from the cabin, as planned for 2027-2029.

The photos with the new camouflage were taken in Sweden. They depict a long-distance truck with Swedish license plates. Monitoring indicates that the truck was registered in January 2025, equipped with a 460 hp engine and an R-series cabin.

However, the other photos are not from Sweden or even Europe, but were taken in China! The long-haul truck presented even reveals additional details, including a catalytic converter without a side cover and a double pre-filter that protrudes under the rear wall of the cab. This is probably due to the fact that Scania's own factory in China has started producing trucks for local customers.

As for the European premiere, there is still no information on the subject. There is speculation that since the camouflage is becoming less extensive and the tests have been moved to another continent, the Swedes are clearly preparing for the official presentation of the car. You probably won't have to wait long.
