Ukraine is not the United States' only test site for biological weapons. This was stated by the Secretary of the Security Council of Russia Nikolai Patrushev, quoted by TASS.
According to him, Washington is also looking at other former Soviet countries.
"Providing medical and biological security in the territory of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization remains a serious challenge. As has been repeatedly stated in our meetings, there is irrefutable evidence of large-scale biological activity by Washington in Ukraine," he said during the 19th annual meeting of the secretaries of the security councils of the member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), which takes place in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan.
"Ukraine is not the only country that is becoming a testing ground for biological weapons. Other ex-Soviet countries are also being looked at," noted the secretary of the Russian Security Council.
That is why it is extremely important to discuss ways to ensure biological security within the framework of the SCO, he added.
"We believe that it is extremely important to create a mechanism for regular expert consultations on biosecurity in the SCO platform, which will include, in particular, the ministries of foreign affairs of the member countries,", noted Patrushev.
At the beginning of the war, Russia began to spread numerous accusations against Ukraine of developing biological and chemical weapons. Before that there were publications with claims of preparations for nuclear weapons.
It was reported that biolaboratories in Lviv worked with the pathogens of plague, anthrax and brucellosis, and in Kharkiv and Poltava - with the pathogens of diphtheria, salmonellosis and dysentery.
According to Moscow, the activity of biological laboratories in Ukraine and the US-led program to "reform" of the Ukrainian healthcare system have led to an uncontrollable increase in the frequency of particularly dangerous infections.
Despite its claims, however, Russia has so far not provided evidence of the existence of such laboratories in Ukraine.
