Tehran is very worried! When and where will Israel strike - 1

Iran's government is extremely "restless" and makes "urgent" diplomatic efforts with the rest of the Middle East to try to gauge the scale of Israel's retaliatory response after the missile attack carried out by Tehran earlier in the month. If Iran fails to reduce the scale of the Israeli strike, it should have allies to protect it, writes CNN, citing its sources.

Iran's concern comes from whether the US will be able to convince Israel not to attack nuclear sites and oil facilities. The condition of "Hezbollah", which was weakened by the assassination of Nasrallah, also causes concern.

The US is holding talks with Israel about its plans to respond to Iran's attack. The Americans have made it clear that they do not condone an attack on Iran's nuclear sites or oil facilities. On Wednesday, the US president spoke to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu - for the first time in more than two months - to tell him that Israel's response must be "proportionate" of that of Iran.

The rest of the US allies in the Gulf (Editor's note - the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Qatar) have also expressed their concern that Israel may attack Iran's oil facilities. The considerations are that this could lead to negative economic consequences, as well as environmental damage to the entire region, reports CNN, citing an Arab diplomat.

The Biden administration is deeply concerned about the continued escalating relationship between Israel and Iran. The main considerations are related to the American state not being involved in a large-scale regional war.

It appears that US influence over Israel is not as strong and is gradually waning as Netanyahu's government defies calls for contained attacks in Lebanon. Instead, Tel Aviv continues to bomb Beirut, destroying the city, while the ground operation has already claimed over 1,400 lives since the start of last month.

A representative of the country's official authorities told CNN that the government has not yet made a decision on how to respond to Tehran's attack. An American government official warns, however, that the positions of the US and Israel may diverge.

"We can't really say whether they have made a decision or not," said the senior American official.

Israel has wanted to attack Iran's nuclear facilities for years. Over the years, there have been suspicions that Israeli services were carrying out assassinations against nuclear scientists working for Iran's nuclear program. Periodically, nuclear sites become the target of cyber attacks, and again Israel is suspected of carrying them out.
