US President Joe Biden spoke today with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in connection with efforts to increase security assistance to Ukraine and announced a new package of military aid worth $425 million, the White House said, quoted by Reuters, BTA writes.
The security package for Ukraine includes air defense assets, air-to-ground munitions, armored vehicles and ammunition, the White House said in a statement.
Zelensky wrote in "Telegram" that he thanked Biden, both parties in the US Congress and the American people for the new aid package and added that he had spoken with the US president about the "victory plan" of Kyiv of five points, which he presented today to the national parliament.
„I proposed to consider the possibility of joint production of weapons,”, Zelensky pointed out. “We also discussed the importance of additional training of Ukrainian soldiers”.
Ukraine, Zelensky wrote, expressed gratitude to the US "for its willingness to help Ukraine strengthen its position to force Russia to use honest diplomacy.
