The mother of Gabriela Sashova, accused of animal abuse - Silvia Bogomilova, spoke to NOVA. She explained that she found out about the videos, which caused a wide public outcry, when police officers came to her house.
Bogomilova said that she filed a complaint because a group of people was hanging around her house. "A lot of attacks started - against me, my family and my relatives. Threats of murder, threats that they will disembowel me, that they will rape me, that they will burn down my house and shop", she said, adding that she had never sent threatening messages.
She shares that she has been to a psychiatrist, who prescribed her strong medication, and then diagnosed her. "The harassment that is being carried out on me by both the media and social networks is unacceptable. I have never doubted that such a thing could happen to my child. Would I allow it to happen? If it has happened, because nothing has been proven in court yet", she added.
According to her, many things are heard, but no one has any evidence - including money laundering. "When everything comes out in black and white and there is some conclusion from a court, the prosecutor's office, etc., then you can talk nonsense. Until there is a court decision, no one has the right to accuse anyone, everyone is innocent until proven guilty, right? I don't trust anyone. These videos could be a montage or photoshop, or she could have been forced to make them, who knows. I am a parent, everyone would stand behind their child. I don't justify her if this is proven, but I don't think I should have to bear all this slop pouring out on me, on my family, on all my friends and loved ones," Bogomilova believes.
Against this backdrop, citizens of Pernik gathered in protest in front of the Courthouse in the city over the scandalous case with the series of animal abuse videos. For nearly three years, 26-year-old Gabriela Sashova and 35-year-old Krasimir Georgiev have been torturing and killing animals on camera, the investigation claims.
