Russia attacks Kharkiv with guided aerial bombs - 1

Russian forces attacked the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv with guided aerial bombs, injuring at least 15 people , announced the regional governor of the Kharkiv region, Oleg Sinegubov, quoted by Reuters, BTA reported.

Initial media reports were of four injured. The attack caused damage to two residential buildings, an infrastructure facility, two supermarkets, a cafe and a shopping center, Sinegubov wrote in the Telegram social application.

Among the wounded are four employees of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry. Kharkiv has been subject to frequent Russian airstrikes since the start of the full-scale invasion in February 2022.

Sinegubov said Russian forces caused heavy damage to a five-story apartment building in the town of Kovsharovka, a small town outside Kupyansk, east of Kharkiv. Local police chief Volodymyr Tymoshko said three citizens died in the attack. A woman was rescued during the night, but then rescue and search operations were suspended due to new Russian attacks.

Ukraine's military says it shot down 50 of 80 Russian drones last night. The Air Force says another 27 drones are “lost in location” in different areas, which most likely suggests the effect of means of radio-electronic warfare, Reuters specified.
