Joe Biden's latest decisions could help Donald Trump end the war in Ukraine - 1

At the end of his presidential term, Joe Biden wants to strengthen Ukraine's position in the war against the Russian Federation, as the US President-elect Donald Trump promises to quickly end the conflict, writes Blomberg.

Biden's latest actions include allowing Ukraine to attack military targets deep inside Russian territory, which the Republican's staff sees as an escalation.

In addition, the White House approved the delivery of anti-personnel mines to Ukraine, canceled nearly $5 billion in debt to Kiev, and imposed sanctions on a major Russian bank.

According to the agency, these measures, as well as others that are still under consideration, are part of the current US president's plan to do as much as possible to strengthen Ukraine before the inauguration of Donald Trump.

Bloomberg notes that this does not mean that such moves by Biden would not go down well with Trump. As Shelby Magid, deputy director of the Atlantic Council's Eurasia Center in Washington, points out, some decisions may benefit Donald Trump.

"Some of Biden's current decisions can help Trump take a more favorable role in ending the war and put Ukraine in a better position for possible negotiations," the expert believes.
