An industrial enterprise in the Russian city of Engels suffered damage in a Ukrainian drone attack tonight, TASS reported, citing Saratov Region Governor Roman Busargin.
He did not give details.
An air alert has been declared in the Saratov Region, hundreds of kilometers from Ukraine, where Engels is located.
The city is experiencing problems with the pressure in the water supply network.
School classes in Engels and the regional center of Saratov will be held remotely today due to the risk of drone attacks, Busargin said.
Two firefighters died fighting flames at an oil base in Engels, which serves an airport where strategic bombers are based, on Wednesday after a Ukrainian drone attack.
The city is located about 600 kilometers from the border with Ukraine.
Russia launched a full-scale invasion of its neighboring country nearly three years ago. Since 2023, Ukraine has relied heavily on drones in its fight against Russian forces, as they are relatively easy and quick to produce and can be used by soldiers without risking their lives, DPA notes.
An air alert was declared in several Russian regions this night. Russian authorities reported, quoted by TASS, drone attacks in the Tula and Voronezh regions, as well as Saratov.
