Explosion at military recruitment center in western Ukraine: four dead, one injured - 1

One person was injured and four people died in an explosion at a military recruitment center in western Ukraine, reports Agence France-Presse, citing a post on “Telegram“ by Sergin Tyurin, head of the military administration in Khmelnytskyi region, BTA reports.

This is the third such incident in Ukraine in several days. An investigation has been launched into the case, and the causes and circumstances surrounding the explosion are still unclear.

Two similar incidents occurred over the past weekend. On Saturday, an explosion rocked a military recruitment center in Rivne, killing one person and injuring six. Also on Saturday, a soldier was killed in Poltava while escorting a group of mobilized soldiers. They were attacked by a hooded man. After the attack, the attacker managed to escape with the mobilized soldiers.

In late October, Ukraine announced plans to mobilize 160,000 people to strengthen its military, Agence France-Presse reported.

According to the head of Ukraine's national police, Ivan Vykhivsky, Russian spy agencies were behind the explosions at Ukrainian military recruitment centers, Reuters reported. He told “Interfax-Ukraine“ that the police, together with Ukraine's security services, are aware that these incidents are part of specific attacks organized by Russian special services with the aim of destabilizing the situation in Ukraine.
