Russia has conducted covert maneuvers with Yars intercontinental ballistic missiles in the Volga River region, the Russian Defense Ministry said today, quoted by Reuters, BTA reports.
“Yars“ is a nuclear missile that can be transported by mobile launchers on trucks or deployed in silos. Russia conducted similar exercises last year as part of efforts to send a warning to the West in the context of the increased confrontation in connection with the war in Ukraine, Reuters reports.
The ministry announced that the missiles were deployed on “combat patrol routes“ under camouflage and were transported in field conditions at a distance of up to 100 kilometers.
In addition, the servicemen practiced defensive actions against sabotage groups and reconnaissance patrols of a hypothetical enemy, the department added.
