Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Secretary of State Marco Rubio agreed to maintain a communication channel to resolve the accumulated problems in Russian-American relations. This was stated in a statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry after a telephone conversation between the parties.
„Following the telephone conversation between the presidents of Russia and the United States on February 12, the heads of the foreign policy departments agreed to maintain a channel of communication to resolve the accumulated problems in Russian-American relations in the interests of eliminating unilateral barriers to mutually beneficial trade, economic and investment cooperation inherited from the previous administration“, the Russian diplomatic service reported.
Lavrov and Rubio indicated their mutual intention to cooperate in resolving the crisis with Ukraine, the situation around Palestine and the Middle East region as a whole.
