US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has arrived in Israel, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
He landed in Tel Aviv for the first time as the US's top diplomat, the agency explained.
He was welcomed at Ramat Gan Airport by Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar.
Rubio will also make his first trip to the Middle East as secretary of state.
According to information from US House of Representatives Representative Michael McCaul, given to Reuters in Munich, Rubio, National Security Advisor Mike Walz and White House Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff will visit Saudi Arabia.
Thousands people protested today in front of the US embassy in the British capital London against US President Donald Trump's plans to take control of the Gaza Strip and displace its Palestinian population, Agence France-Presse reported, quoted by BTA.
Several thousand people, waving Palestinian flags and carrying banners reading "Hands off Gaza", marched from the Prime Minister's residence, "Whitehall", to the US embassy on the south bank of the River Thames.
The protest, organized by the "Palestine Solidarity Campaign" Movement, is the 24th in the British capital since the unprecedented attack by fighters of the Palestinian Islamist group "Hamas" against Israel on October 7, 2023.
Last week, Trump suggested that the US "take" Gaza Strip, and the Palestinians to be resettled in third countries, including Egypt and Jordan. He promised to rebuild the territory devastated by the war between Israel and "Hamas" and make it the "Riviera of the Middle East".
His comments drew sharp criticism around the world, and Arab countries condemned the proposal, insisting on a two-state solution to the conflict - Israel and Palestine.
Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said today that he appreciated US President Trump's "full support" for Israel's upcoming decisions on the Gaza Strip, after another hostage exchange for Palestinian prisoners was carried out that day.
"President Trump's firm stance led to the release of three of our hostages despite Hamas' previously announced refusal to release them today," Netanyahu said, adding that he would convene Israel's security cabinet "as soon as possible to decide on Israel's next steps."
