Washington has asked European capitals to submit proposals on what security guarantees they are ready to give to Kiev and how many peacekeepers and equipment they can send to Ukraine, the Financial Times reports.
According to sources of the publication, such a request was made this week after European leaders began talking about the need for their countries to participate in the peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian conflict.
According to information received by the newspaper, European diplomatic agencies have received a questionnaire from the State Department, in which they must submit specific proposals for security guarantees to Kiev. The publication notes that this was done on the eve of the start of the European tour of the US President's special envoy for Russia and Ukraine Keith Kellogg.
The US State Department has not yet commented on this information.
