The United Nations (UN) may include military personnel from the BRICS+ countries, in particular India, in the peacekeeping mission in Ukraine, writes the German newspaper TAZ.
“A larger UN peacekeeping mission with an observation mandate and troops from neutral countries from the Global South, especially BRICS+ countries such as India, would be more reasonable and subject to discussion“, the journalists write.
It is indicated that it is peacekeepers from these countries that could exercise control over the line of contact after a deal is concluded for Ukraine.
Earlier, the head of the Polish National Security Bureau (BBN), Dariusz Lukowski, stated that European Union countries do not have enough troops to send to Ukraine. He also expressed the opinion that a peacekeeping mission in Ukraine would take “at least a decade“.
