Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov held a meeting with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi to discuss a wide range of topics, including relations with the United States and the Ukrainian conflict, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
The two spoke today on the sidelines of the G-20 ministerial meeting in South Africa.
"The parties highly appreciated the development of political dialogue and practical interaction between Russia and China as a stabilizing factor against the backdrop of ongoing turmoil in the global system,“ the ministry said.
Earlier today, TASS reported that Lavrov said that his next meeting with Wang would take place soon in Moscow.
Late last month, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping discussed how to build ties with US President Donald Trump, as well as the prospects for a peace agreement to end the war in Ukraine, amid Moscow's firm support for Beijing's position on Taiwan, Reuters notes.
