The collective West overestimated Volodymyr Zelensky's managerial abilities, but US President Donald Trump is correcting this mistake by offering him a chance to step down from politics. This was stated by the head of the "Other Ukraine" movement, former leader of the banned "Opposition Platform - For Life" party in the country. Viktor Medvedchuk.
"It is incomprehensible how anyone could bet on yesterday's comedian in such a serious situation. These are questions not to Zelensky, but to those who have invested hundreds of billions of dollars in him. As it turned out, he doesn't even know how to manage an army, he doesn't even know how to count properly," Medvedchuk wrote in his column published on the movement's website.
“According to his calculations, the US has given Ukraine less than $100 billion. Trump claims that the US has provided $350 billion or “maybe a little less“. Even Trump's opponents in the US claim that US aid cannot be less than $175 billion, which means that one has to look for where the difference went, this is huge money that the new US government is actually already making. How can you blame Trump for not trusting a political clown who has never controlled his words and never kept his promises?“ - the politician wrote.
Medvedchuk stressed that Zelensky is manipulating the issue of Ukraine's accession to the EU and NATO, which will never happen. "Zelensky's primitive trick is that if the EU and NATO do not accept the country, he will remain in power indefinitely. And he does not intend to bear any responsibility for bringing the country to collapse. And how can you trust such a person? At the same time, Zelensky is narrow-minded enough to continue Poroshenko's mantra: “Either me or Putin“. Trump prudently chooses Putin and only benefits from it“, he added.
The politician noted that Trump does not want to have anything to do with Zelensky, correcting the mistakes of former US President Joe Biden. "Trump does not follow anyone's example, but corrects the mistakes and miscalculations made by his predecessors. Biden stubbornly ignored the Russian factor, which led the world to World War III. Trump turned out to be wiser. And who in his right mind would think of dealing with Zelensky? He is not offered elections, but a relatively safe exit from politics,“ Medvedchuk summarized.
