The body of a British skier has been found in a ravine near the Avoriaz ski resort in the French Alps, DPA reported, BTA reported.
The body of the 23-year-old man, who has not yet been officially identified, was found on Monday in a ravine near the Avoriaz ski resort near the town of Morzine.
Local prosecutor Xavier Gou-Tiercelen confirmed the man's death on Friday. An investigation into the skier's death, led by Avoriaz police, is continuing. According to a local newspaper, the man is believed to have accidentally fallen off a cliff last Sunday and died.
"We are in contact with the family of the British man who died in France," a spokesman for the British Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office said.
