Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday that the release of Palestinian prisoners from Israeli prisons under a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip would be postponed until “Hamas“ ends its humiliating hostage-freeing ceremonies, world agencies reported, quoted by BTA.
“In light of “Hamas“s repeated violations "In particular, the humiliating ceremonies that insult the honor of our hostages, as well as the cynical use of hostages for propaganda purposes, it was decided to delay the release of terrorists scheduled for yesterday until the release of the next hostages without humiliating ceremonies is guaranteed," Netanyahu said.
At the same time, the armed wing of "Hamas" released a video, allegedly made in Nuseirat, in the central Gaza Strip, showing two Israeli hostages watching the release of three other hostages yesterday, AFP reported.
The two hostages are wearing identical long-sleeved shirts and watch the release of the three hostages from a car. They beg Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the video to release them.
The two hostages have been identified as Evitar David and Guy Gilboa-Dalal. They were kidnapped on October 7, 2023, from the "Nova" music festival in southern Israel.
According to the "Hostage Families Forum", the fact that the two men are being forced to watch the release of other hostages is a display of cruelty and a particularly disgusting scene.
"Evitar and Guy and dozens of other hostages were tragically excluded from the current phase of the Gaza hostage release in exchange for the release of Palestinian detainees by Israel," the organization added.
It calls on US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to expedite the release of all hostages.
"Every second counts," the families added. "Our dear beings are suffering in this nightmare, which cannot be allowed to continue for another day", the association added.
The ceasefire, which came into effect on January 19, allowed the release of 25 hostages and ends on March 1. The six hostages were released yesterday and Israel was to release 620 Palestinian prisoners in exchange.
"Hamas" described the delay in the release of the prisoners as a blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement.
