A source in the Turkish Foreign Ministry said that the head of the Turkish diplomatic mission, Hakan Fidan, plans to discuss the situation in the Middle East, Syria and Ukraine with the Russian foreign minister.
On February 20 in Johannesburg, on the sidelines of the G20 foreign ministers' meeting, Lavrov and Fidan discussed key aspects of the bilateral agenda and the situation in Syria. The Russian foreign minister informed his Turkish counterpart about the results of the Russian-American contacts that took place on February 18 in Riyadh.
