British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has announced he will host a number of world leaders in London over the weekend, while defending the UK government's decision to increase defence spending, NOVA reported.
The Prime Minister also said he had spoken to French President Emmanuel Macron after returning from a meeting with US President Donald Trump.
„I spoke to President Zelensky several times on Wednesday night and on Saturday. I spoke to President Macron this afternoon /b.r. yesterday/ on his return to France and I am hosting a number of countries over the weekend to continue discussing how to move forward together, as allies, in light of the situation we face“, the British Prime Minister said.
Starmer and Macron said they welcomed the leadership of United States President Donald Trump in efforts to achieve lasting peace in Ukraine. This became clear after a telephone conversation between Starmer and Macron, BNR reported.
A spokesperson for Starmer's office added that the two leaders reiterated their position that Ukraine must be at the center of any peace talks and that Europe is ready to play its part.
I recall that Macron already met with Trump on Monday, and Starmer will talk with the American president at the White House on Thursday.
