Angel Naydenov: Trump doesn't care much about Ukraine, he wants a quick peace and to win applause - 1

Donald Trump doesn't care much about Ukraine, but about its natural resources. In addition, he is more interested in a quick peace, then to win applause and probably receive the Nobel Peace Prize and transfer responsibility to European countries. This was commented on by former Minister of Defense Angel Naydenov to bTV.
According to him, with the inauguration of President Trump, events are developing at breakneck speed.
„It is difficult to follow and make sense of them to the end. First of all, we have a warming of relations between the US and Russia, and not only with regard to the issue of Ukraine. Next is the verbal aggression and pressure and questioning the legitimacy of the Ukrainian president. Thirdly, these are the growing expectations and hopes that this year the war in Ukraine can be ended, but rather a temporary agreement to cease hostilities, not a lasting peace“, commented Naydenov.

He also stated that there is a rift between the US and Europe.

“Trump prefers to speak at the level of leaders, not with Europe as an independent entity. I hope that Europe will be included at some stage in the peace negotiations. France's understanding that a quick peace is needed, but not a bad agreement, and that it should be written in it that the Europeans are ready to guarantee in some form control over the implementation of the agreement. It is also necessary to include the so-called American safeguard mechanism and it was emphasized that President Trump expressed solidarity without defining the limits of this solidarity“, the former Minister of Defense also said.

Naydenov also commented on our army, stating that there was a salary increase and this was reflected.

“If before there was one candidate for one position, now there are 5-7, there is hope that the holes will be filled, and we are missing about 5,000 people“, Naydenov explained.
