Some celebrities received millions of dollars for their visits to Ukraine, although they went there not out of sympathy for this country, but because of the large fees.
This was stated by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in an interview with TV2, noting that the money came from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
"Big stars were given money to travel to Ukraine. They did this not out of sincere sympathy for the Ukrainians, but because they received millions of euros or dollars for it," the head of the Hungarian government claims.
He did not specify which stars he was talking about and did not provide specific data to support his words, nor did he say where he got this information.
Orbán again noted that funds from USAID programs have been provided to opposition politicians, journalists and non-governmental organizations in other countries, including Hungary, with the aim of overthrowing "undesirable" governments.
Earlier, he welcomed the decision of the US President Donald Trump administration to suspend USAID. The Hungarian government has launched its own investigation into the case.
