The Norwegian company Haltbakk Bunkers announced that it would stop supplying fuel to US military personnel based in Norway and ships docking in its ports, following the dispute between US President Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House on March 1.

Haltbakk Bunkers CEO Gunnar Gran told the Norwegian news portal Kystens Nørringsliv that the decision will remain in effect until Trump leaves office.

„We have decided to immediately cease our activities as a supplier of fuel to US forces in Norway and their ships docking in Norwegian ports. "No fuel for Americans," the company said in a statement published on Saturday in X.

Haltbakk Bunkers called on all Norwegian and European companies to do the same and accompanied the announcement with a pro-Ukrainian slogan.

The company's CEO Gunnar Gran also gave an interview to the Norwegian maritime news portal Kystens Næringsliv, in which he said that the measures would remain in force as long as Trump is in office. "Not a single liter will be delivered until Trump is finished," he said, adding that the company "has a moral compass." On February 28, Zelensky arrived at the White House to meet with Trump. After the scandal that broke out between them and the departure of the Ukrainian president, Trump published a statement on the social network Truth Social, in which he emphasized that Zelensky had shown disrespect and unwillingness to peacefully resolve the Ukrainian conflict.

The Norwegian Ministry of Defense assured the United States of its readiness to continue cooperation and supply to American forces stationed on Norwegian territory.

“Norway and the United States have a close and strong defense partnership, and American forces will continue to receive from us the supplies and support they need“, the statement published on the kingdom's website said.

The Ministry of Defense emphasizes that reports in the Norwegian and foreign media that create uncertainty about the supply of US Navy forces stationed in the Kingdom do not correspond to the position of the Norwegian government.
