At least six Palestinians were killed and eight others were injured in strikes by the Israeli Defense Forces in the Gaza Strip over the past two days, the Palestinian enclave's health ministry reported on its Telegram channel.
"The death toll from the Israeli aggression since October 7, 2023 has risen to 48,453, with another 111,860 people injured. "In the past 48 hours, six people have been killed and one body has been pulled from the rubble, while eight injured people have also been admitted to hospitals in the Gaza Strip," the statement said.
In mid-January, Israel and Hamas, with the mediation of Egypt, Qatar and the United States, agreed to implement a ceasefire in Gaza, which came into effect on January 19. The first stage of the implementation of the agreement ended on March 1.
More than 2 million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip are in dire need of food and basic necessities, the Qatari television channel Al Jazeera reported.
According to it, 2.3 million people in the Palestinian enclave are facing acute shortages of food, medicine and basic necessities due to the fact that the Israeli authorities are blocking all deliveries of humanitarian aid to the region. For the past seven days, fuel needed to heat homes and run electricity generators has not been delivered to the Gaza Strip.
The TV channel notes that locals do not have the means to repair their homes and organize temporary shelters and are “searching among the rubble for any available materials to build shelters for the winter months“.
