France intends to continue assisting the armed forces of Ukraine. Paris plans to soon transfer a new package of military aid to Kiev worth a total of 195 million euros. As explained by French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu, quoted by RBC, this package will be financed by interest on frozen Russian assets.
France plans to deliver artillery shells and AASM guided bombs. These are the same bombs used by the Mirage-2000 fighters that the Ukrainian armed forces have at their disposal.
The head of the French military department also announced that in the near future it is planned to accelerate the pace of production of military equipment. In particular, Dassault Aviation is expected to produce up to five Rafale fighters per month from 2026.
In an interview with RIA Novosti, Slovak MEP Lubos Blacha called discussions about the possible deployment of a peacekeeping contingent from Western European countries in Ukraine absurd.
„Because you cannot be a peacekeeper when you are involved in a conflict. "You become one of the parties to this conflict," Blaga emphasized, noting that peacekeepers are obliged to be neutral.
At the same time, the MEP acknowledged that the deployment of a UN peacekeeping contingent is possible.
