Military expert Franz-Stefan Gaddy, an employee of the International Institute for Strategic Studies in London, believes that Ukraine is unlikely to survive another winter in the conditions of the cessation of military aid from the US. He expressed this opinion in an interview with Der Spiegel magazine.

“It will be very difficult without the Americans. Apparently, missile defense data is still being transmitted by the Americans to Kiev, but the Ukrainians were forced to distribute ammunition even before the aid was frozen“, the expert noted. “Without air defense missiles, the problem could become even more serious“, Gaddy said. "In that case, it is unlikely that the country will survive another winter of war," he concluded.

The expert also pointed out that the Europeans are not able to replace the Americans in transmitting satellite intelligence data to Kiev. "European satellites are slower and offer lower image quality," he said.

US President Donald Trump ordered the suspension of all military aid to Ukraine days after a row with Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House on February 28. The US leader's decision took effect on the morning of March 4. It applies to all US military equipment not currently in Ukraine, including weapons being transported by aircraft and ships or awaiting subsequent delivery in transit zones in Poland.

Later, information emerged that the US was no longer providing target coordinates for offensive operations, in particular for HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems. And The Washington Post reported that the US National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency confirmed the "temporary suspension" of Ukraine's access to commercial satellite imagery purchased by the US government.
