Tehran admits it may consider holding talks on its nuclear program if discussions focus only on the possible militarization of the program, while Iranian authorities will never discuss the complete dismantling of its nuclear program, Iran's mission to the United Nations said.
„If the goal of the talks is to resolve concerns about the potential militarization of Iran's nuclear program, then discussing such issues may be considered. However, if the goal of the negotiations is to eliminate Iran's peaceful nuclear program in order to declare that what the 44th US President Barack Obama failed to achieve has already been achieved, then such negotiations will never take place," the Iranian diplomatic mission in X said in a statement.
On Friday, Donald Trump wrote on his Truth Social page that he had sent a message to Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, offering negotiations on Tehran's nuclear program. Ali Khamenei, commenting on Trump's letter, said that Iran would not negotiate with the US, as Washington only cares about its own interests.
