Senator Lindsey Graham on military aid to Kiev: It will be worse than Afghanistan!

The United States should resume military aid to Ukraine as soon as possible and maintain it until the fighting stops. The fall of Ukraine would have more serious consequences than the fall of the pro-Western government in Afghanistan in 2021. This was stated by Republican Senator Lindsey Graham in an interview with Fox News.

The politician expresses concern about the suspension of US arms and intelligence supplies to Ukraine after Volodymyr Zelensky's clash with Donald Trump.

"If we pull the trigger on Ukraine, it will be worse than Afghanistan. I don't think President Trump is ready to do that. Until we have a ceasefire, I would give Ukraine what it needs in terms of intelligence and weapons to defend itself,” Graham said.

At the same time, the senator emphasized that additional sanctions against the Russian banking system and energy sector will be introduced next week in order to force Russia to the negotiating table.

"However, without providing Ukraine with the necessary weapons, these negotiations will be meaningless. It is impossible to help resolve the conflict without providing Ukraine with intelligence and defense resources while the fighting continues. I hope that next week we will get a clear vision from Ukraine on how the war should end and we will begin to work to end it," Graham noted.
