The Serbian Consumer Protection Association "Efektiva" has called on Serbs to boycott the "Lidl" retail chain from today until March 16 in protest against high prices, especially for food, the Belgrade-based BETA agency reported, quoted by BTA.
Last week, Serbian citizens boycotted the "Mercator" chain, and the week before that - "Delhaize".
Before the start of the week-long boycotts in Serbia, a one-day boycott of the entire retail chain was announced, and then a five-day boycott of the five largest retail chains in the country was organized - "Delhaize", "Mercator", "Lidl", "Univerexport" and "Dis".
Boycotts of the entire retail chain and individual retail chains were first announced in Croatia in January at the call of the civic platform "Hello, Inspector". Similar store boycotts were also organized in other countries such as Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and the Republic of North Macedonia.
