The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) announced today that the AFU struck oil refining facilities in Moscow and Oryol regions in Russia in a massive drone attack last night. Russian authorities have meanwhile announced that the number of dead has now reached three, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
Russia noted that the largest Ukrainian drone attack on Moscow since the start of the war in February 2022 was carried out that night, with the attack leading to the temporary closure of the four airports serving the Russian capital.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the purpose of the attack was to show that Kiev still has the strength to fight.
According to the latest data from the ministry, Russian air defense has shot down a total of 343 Ukrainian drones, 6 of which - near the Kursk nuclear power plant.
In addition, the department said that Russian troops had captured the village of Khorkho in Donetsk region, eastern Ukraine.
The third victim in the drone attack was reported on "Telegram" the mayor of the city of Domodedovo, Moscow region, Evgenia Khrustaleva.
Earlier today, Moscow reported at least two dead workers at a meat warehouse as a result of the attack on Moscow.
