Iran will not negotiate with the United States while it is under threat. This was stated by the President of the Islamic Republic, Masoud Pezeshkian, quoted by "Reuters", reports News.bg.
Pezeshkian addressed harsh words to US President Donald Trump, urging him to "do whatever the hell he wants".
„It is unacceptable for us for the US to give orders and make threats. I will not even negotiate with you. Do whatever the hell you want", the Iranian president stressed.
On Saturday, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei also stated that Tehran would not be forced to negotiate. His remarks came a day after Donald Trump announced that he had sent a letter to Iran inviting it to negotiate a new nuclear deal.
Despite expressing his willingness to negotiate a new agreement, Trump has resumed the "maximum pressure" campaign he has been pursuing since his first term. The goal is to isolate Iran from the global economy and reduce its oil exports to zero.
