Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) announced today that it had thwarted a "series of terrorist acts" directed against servicemen participating in the special military operation (as Moscow calls the war in Ukraine) and civil servants, Reuters and TASS reported, quoted by BTA.
According to the FSB statement, "Ukrainian special services" organized the sending of parcels with explosive devices by mail, Reuters indicates.
The explosives were placed in perfume packages intended for addresses of servicemen in eight regions, TASS specifies, citing the Russian service. The FSB reports that in the Sverdlovsk region, at the time of sending such parcels, a Russian citizen recruited by the Ukrainian special services was detained.
"A series of sabotage and terrorist acts planned by the Ukrainian special services against servicemen of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation participating in the special military operation, as well as civil servants providing assistance to military units in the special military operation zone, have been prevented," the FSB press service said.
