The Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin, by his decree, established a scholarship named after Vladimir Zhirinovsky in the field of Oriental studies and public administration, the Cabinet of Ministers' channel on Telegram reported.
“From September 1, 2025, students (cadets) of universities and doctoral students (adjuncts) of universities who have significant achievements in the field of Oriental studies and public administration will receive scholarships named after V. V. Zhirinovsky“, the statement said.
Each year, 10 scholarships will be awarded to students, each of which will amount to 15 thousand rubles per month, and 10 scholarships of 20 thousand rubles per month for postgraduate students. Scholarships will be awarded for 12 months.
To receive payments, students must pass a competitive selection, which will be conducted by specialists from the Ministry of Education and Science. A mandatory requirement for scholarship applicants will be the absence of Cs (satisfactory grades) based on the results of the assessments - students will need to have only Bs and A (good and excellent grades).
In addition, the Ministry of Education and Science will pay attention to publications in scientific journals, participation in conferences, and scholarships received by a student or graduate student for conducting research work. A candidate's victory in an all-Russian or international specialized competition will also increase the chances of receiving a scholarship.
Vladimir Zhirinovsky is a famous Russian politician and orientalist, founder and first leader of the LDPR party, a deputy of the State Duma. He ran six times for President of Russia.
